  1. Well once again dear chappies.. That concludes the voting
  2. from the mega galactic panel of B.S.S judges (Hello England!).

  4. You may accuse me of idle slagging (if you're an asshole)
  5. So here are some tips for would be games writers:

  7. 1. Use hardware scroll for gods sake!!!!
  8. 2. Make sure the game runs at 50 frames per second.. there's
  9.    no excuse for jerky ST horse shit.. Take a look at
  10.    Turrican - full screen multidirectional smooth scroll!!!
  11. 3. Make sure its got a decent soundtrack no plinky-plonk
  12.    voices, pots and pans or crackly samples please.
  13. 4. Decent sound FX are a must.
  14. 5. If its a choice between 50 frames per second and parralax
  15.    5000 layer arcade scrolling drop the 4999 other layers!!
  16. 6. Make sure the graphics look arcade. IE:shiny,waxy.bright!
  17.    Not dull bland boring crap like Narc for instance..
  18. 7. Use the hardware sprites.. I know they're a bit shit but
  19.    theyre great for bullets,weapons,main characters and the
  20.    like..
